It's a dive into the idea that we are less a unitary "self" and more a collection of component parts, which kind frees us from the burden of having to reconcile all of our inconsistencies. I was initially resistant to the idea, because I worked hard to build this self and I'm pretty attached to the idea of a unified consciousness, but it's been an interesting exercise to think about myself in this different way.
